The US Bureau of Labor and Statistics web site indicates that during the month of April, 271,226 people lost their jobs.  That’s measured by the number of people who filed for unemployment.  For some of you, that’s just a number.  While others of us know that it represents real people like you and like me who have lost their jobs, can no longer provide for their families and may be running out of hope.  Every time I ask someone, “How is the current economy impacting you?”  I hear stories of fathers, mothers, sisters, and brothers losing jobs.  Everyone knows someone who has lost a job and is having trouble finding a new one.

Families are struggling to make ends meet.  And so are companies.  Even companies who, like IBM, have recently announced strong quarterly earnings and, according to Samuel J. Palmisano, IBMs CEO, “we will invest in our people” have eliminated literally thousands of jobs across North America.

So what are we to do?  While the government is handing out our tax dollars to people who can’t seem to learn personal responsibility, those of us who have been responsible, who have played by the rules, are being systematically ignored and robed of our livelihood.  All of the Government’s horses and all of it’s men seem to be having a more than a little trouble with this Humpty Dumpty economy.

When I was growing up, I learned from my father that if a job was worth doing, it was worth doing right.  I learned that hard work, while never easy, paid off.  And diligence and self discipline were worth the effort.  I learned that to take responsibility meant that in all things I developed the mind set that I was “able to respond.”   To respond in such a way as to have a positive impact on people, places and events around me.  In short, that I am the Captain of my own ship.  The Master of my own Destiny.

Join with me in the crafting of a way of life for yourself so dynamic and so profound, and yet is a life which offers financial independence and peace to those who are willing to simply apply themselves, those who are willing to dare to commit to self improvement as a way of life.  It is within your reach.  You can accomplish much if you are wiling to reshape your beliefs and fly.

I invite you to listen to the following excerpts from our company’s president.  I’ve edited the original presentation, removed references to the name of our company and the name of our president.  The reason is quite simple.   We believe in enhancing lives one person at a time.  I could harness the power of the internet en masse to introduce this, the greatest opportunity of our time, to thousands of nameless, faceless potential partners.  And yet this would denigrate the human element.  As wonderful as the internet is, we respond to people.  As powerful as this media communicates information, relationships are far more powerful.  And so I invite you to listen to our story.  I’ll roll it out in parts.  Just enough each post to give you a flavor for the potential that exists, the potential to change lives.  Let’s begin together the journey that will, if you let it, take you where you truly want to go.  If what you hear intrigues you at all, I invite you to contact me. .

Dare to believe that there is an opportunity which you can harness to create your own Personal Bailout Package, your own way out of the layoff jungle.  Dare to believe that, contrary to what some may tell you, you can do this, you don’t need to invest money, only time and belief.  And you will succeed.  Learn to soar.
